Figure Ground
Figure Ground is a network of artists working in the public realm, founded by a group of artists’ who came together as former recipients of Art Plus awards from Arts Council England.
In 2009, Figure Ground organised a series of events for artists working in the public realm, to provide opportunities to network and collaborate, in locations around the South East. The aim was to make opportunities for artists working in public to get together and debate key issues relating to their practice, in a format that is open, participatory and creative.
The events took place around the South East region: Bracknell, Chatham, Brighton.
In 2011, Figure Ground is planning an event on the Lightship, LV21, inviting artists to make collaborative work in response to the spaces on the ship. Further news soon.
